1. Get enough sleep

It is very important to have a sound sleep to have a productive day. To avoid lazy days and to be fresh at work, make sure you had enough sleep.

2. Be Professional

Keep hygienic, wear formal and fresh clothes. You can be Professional at work only when you look and feel professional.

3. To do List

Have a calendar and to do list. Note down the tasks and add to the tasks as you make commitments. This will avoid remembering all the tasks and the chance of skipping important tasks. That will reduce the stress and you will have peace of mind. Do the important and urgent tasks first.

Check and verify the list in regular intervals.

4. Never be hungry

Have your breakfast before going to the work. If not possible, have it before starting the work or in the early hours. Also, you can keep snacks and water handy in order to avoid any discomfort. Have your food at right time, whether it is breakfast or lunch. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water as required.

5. Utilize your Productive time

You will be fresh and energetic in the early hours of work. Maximize your efforts and get the maximum out of it. Try to do the difficult or more creative tasks in those early hours when you are with full of energy.

6. Take Breaks

Working continuously will reduce concentration and productivity. Take a quick break and you will see the difference. This can be at 3-4 times in a day. Can have a cup of tea or can take a walk around.

7. Avoid Distractions

Identify the distractions and block it. It might be social media alerts, email alerts etc. Once you see such alerts, mind gets distracted in between important tasks. It will be wasting your valuable time and takes 10-15 minutes to refocus on your tasks.

8. Do right away

Follow 2-minute rule. If the work can be completed within few minutes, do it right away, unless you are not in the middle of an urgent task.

Productive people don’t keep the tasks pending, if it can be completed easily within minutes.

This will also avoid piling up your To-Do list.

9. Avoid Multitask

Multitasking seems like you will be completing many tasks early. In reality, you will not be able to concentrate, and it will reduce the efficiency. Instead try to concentrate on a single task and complete it and then jump to another.

10. Delegate

If the work can be delegated to someone else, do it right away and you will be able to focus on the tasks where you are supposed to. Many people will think of doing all the tasks by themselves and it will increase stress and eventually reduce productivity. Train and trust others. In long run it will be beneficial and you will be focused on the major and difficult tasks.

11. Use Technology

Learn new and appropriate tools and use it in your daily tasks to improve productivity. Based on the work requirements, many tools and techniques are available that can be implemented with much ease.

Arrange your electronic files. Now a days much time is wasted on searching electronic files.

12. Work environment

Organize your workspace, there should be a specific place for everything. Return the items to its original place after the use.

If the office is clean and organized, the thoughts will also be. Working in a clean and organized environment helps decision making, emotional well-being and to focus on the work.

13. Avoid Stress

If you are stressed, it will distract your concentration and will not be able to focus on your work.

Easy ways to avoid stress are meditation, regular exercise, Yoga, music etc. Can listen to soft music at work, if it is not interrupting your work.

14. Leave your work at Office

Draw a line between your home and office. Don’t take your work to home, try to complete the work at your office and leave the rest of your time for your family and personal life.

Even if it is Work-from-Home, you need to separate the work and home. Do the work at your Office hours or allocate specific time for office work.

15. Relax

Find time to relax, whether it be with your family or friends or by your own.

Find time for activities like, exercise, your hobbies, etc.

Finally, Sign off the day with your achievements and plan for the next day.
