An easy recipe for a quick appetizer. Also, can have with Fried rice. Children will like the most as it is not spicy, but a little sweet.
Total Time – 1 hour
Cooking time – 30 minutes.
Serving for 4-5 people.
Part I
Ingredients
Cauliflower – 500 grams (one medium size)
All purpose flour (maida) – 3 tbsp
Corn flour – 2 tbsp
Kashmiri Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Pepper powder – 1tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Water – 1/2 cup (125 ml)
Oil – 250 ml (required to deep fry cauliflower)
Method
Clean cauliflower florets and keep it in hot water closed for 20 – 30 minutes and then drain the water.
Mix corn flour, all purpose flour, chilli powder, pepper powder, salt, water and make it a smooth batter. The batter should not be too thick or watery, it should be smooth, add water accordingly.
Add cauliflower to the mix and keep for 15 minutes.
Heat oil and deep fry cauliflower pieces until crisp.
Part II
Ingredients
Onion – 1 big chopped
Garlic – 2 tbsp (7-8 cloves)
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – to taste (1 tsp)
Kashmiri Chilli powder – 2 tsp (3 tsp or 2tsp of hot chilli powder, if spicier required)
Pepper powder – ½ tsp
Soya Sauce – 2 tbsp
Tomato ketchup – 2 tbsp
Honey – 2 tbsp
Corn flour – 1 tsp
Water – 125 ml
Spring Onion – 3 tbsp
Method
Heat 2 tbsp of oil (oil used for frying can be used) in medium flame and add garlic. Saute for few seconds, add onion, saut for 1-2 minutes and add chilli powder, saut for 1 minute.
Add soya sauce, tomato ketchup, pepper powder and honey. Saut for 1 minute.
Mix corn flour in 50 ml of water and make it smooth. Add corn flour mix and the remaining water (75 ml). Cook in low flame for 3 -4 minutes until it is thickened. Always remember to add hot water to the mix.
Add fried cauliflower pieces and mix well.
Finally add spring onion and mix it.
Delicious Honey glazed Cauliflower is ready.
This is a dry dish, if more gravy is required you can add little more corn flour mix and water to the gravy before adding cauliflower.
